DOWNTOWN PHOENIX–Friday, October 21, 6pm-1am–Galeria de los Muertos. Known for its finely
curated macabre art and raucous events, Galeria de los Muertos will be celebrating its 1-year anniversary
and the opening of its Dia de los Muertos exhibit. Proprietor Marco Turrubiartes aka El Vaquero Muerto
announced that the event will be hosted by the infamous Dr Reverend Stephen Strange, and feature a
variety of entertainment as well as an art raffle for The Brenda Casten Leukemia Fund.

This event will feature the debut American exhibition of award-winning Italian artist Natascia Raffio. She is
the latest addition to the cabal of resident artists whose monthly shows continuously draw large crowds to
the gallery.

The evening will include the Noche de los Muertos fashion show with the latest styles by designers:
MissConstrued, Modified Minds, El Vaquero Muerto, Torture Couture, Catrina la Del, Krabbie Gurl, Bubbles
and Frown Haberdashery Shoppe, Sugar & Spike, and Trucha Gear.

The evening will also feature a fire dance by Burden Blossom complementing Romantasy Cabaret’s sensual
burlesque act. The Strange Family Circus will put on their sideshow performance. Setting the atmosphere
with music will be DJ Con, and attendees will also have the chance to be memorialized in a photo booth run
by Tommy Pemberton Photography. Catering by the Tamale Store will complement dessert provided by
Mama Toledo’s pies.

“The Dr Reverend Stephen Strange has been a mainstay in the Phoenix art community for many years, and
as the ringleader of The Strange Family Circus, was the perfect choice to host what promises to be an
unforgettable event in celebration of the Galeria’s first anniversary, and to help bring community attention to
a very worthy cause,” said Marco Turrubiartes.

“The gallery held my attention from the moment that I walked in, and I’m happy to be a part of the
celebration,” said Photographer Tommy Pemberton.

Noxious Minds: an Unholy Alliance art exhibit

Noxious Minds: an Unholy Alliance – new showing of paintings by Aleta Welling, sculpture and paintings by Davemarkart, and sculptural and framing additions by Zach from Grindwhore. This new exhibit will be featured in the front room of Galeria de los Muertos through January 27th! The remaining two room of the gallery will feature new works by the rest of the Galeria Art Crew, including new Galeria Artists Lindsey Bessanson, Darling Nikki and Jesse Perry!

“How Winter Kills” Art Exhibit Opening Friday, December 3rd

The “How Winter Kills” Art Exhibit will be opening for First Friday, December 3rd at Galeria de los Muertos. This exhibit will showcase new themed work by Davemarkart, Aleta Welling, Maynard Breese, Hendrix, Shayne of the Dead, I Must Be Dead, Jenny Fontana, John Nyberg, El Vaquero Muerto and proudly introducing our newest Member Artist, Sam Nelson.

This exhibit will be a real treat because all of our artists have been invited to create not only work in their usual mediums, but also in others! There will be an entire display of reindeer and snowmen vinyl art toys and reindeer statues that our artists have taken and forged into one-of-a-kind works of art! So be sure to get to the show early because these limited creations will not last long!

“A Traves de los Muertos, Yo Me Expreso” (Through the Dead, I Express Myself) Dia de los Muertos Art Exhibit

The “A Traves de los Muertos, Yo Me Expreso” (Through the Dead, I Express Myself) Dia de los Muertos Art Exhibit is running from Friday, Nov 5th to Thursday, Nov 2nd. More than just a memorial, this show is focused on how different artists express themselves through the themes of remembrance, death and the Dia de los Muertos holidy, which has been gaining popularity in the Southwest since the 1980′s. It is also an acknowledgment, though the racial and background diversity of our artists and their work, of the influence and contribution of Hispanic culture to the lives, aesthetic and mindset of those living in the American Southwest. The front gallery room will showcase this exhibit with the remaining rooms of the gallery still showing an eclectic offering from all of our artists. Expect exciting new work from Gabriel Grimm, Kyna Tek, Maynard Breese, DaveMark Art, Joi Carrey, I Must Be Dead, John the Woodcarver, Hendrix, Jenny Fontana, Shayne of the Dead and El Vaquero Muerto.
